Non-profit hosts Glow for Good 5K to benefit local cancer patients

On May 17 at 7 p.m., The Giving Garden Foundation (TGGF) will host its first ever Glow for Good 5K at Brent and Becky’s Bulbs in Gloucester, VA.  This is a family event and runners, walkers, and spectators are encouraged to attend and participate.  There will be food, music, games, prizes, and lots of glow-in-the-dark swag.

The Giving Garden Foundation is a local 501C3 nonprofit organization founded by four Gloucester residents in 2008.  TGGF’s mission is to provide financial assistance to cancer patients residing in Gloucester and Mathews, VA. TGGF aims to bridge the gap between existing resources and patients' unmet needs by providing an online database of other local, state and national resources. TGGF is a volunteer-run organization hosting various events and fundraisers to work towards their mission.

The Giving Garden Foundation has provided more than $40,000 in financial assistance to local patients since its inception. In 2014 alone, TGGF has already provided more than $6,500 in assistance.
