Ultra Strong: Foot and Ankle Strengthening on the Trail and in the Gym

ACSM Personal Trainer, Ellen Womeldorf will be speaking about her experiences training for and participating in the Highland Sky 40 mile race this past June. She will discuss trail running and strength training benefits and the best places in Williamsburg to hit the trails.
Dr. Matthew Hopson DPM, foot and ankle surgery specialist, will answer your questions regarding injuries and strengthening benefits. Dr Hopson has extensive experience with lateral ankle instability, sports injuries, foot and ankle fractures, arthritis and other lower extremity ailments.
After the discussion, Ellen invites and CHALLENGES you to take part in a full body strength training circuit. If you are interested in the workout, please wear athletic clothes and shoes.
DIRECTIONS:
From 199, points North or South
Take the Longhill Road exit off of 199 toward Eastern State Hospital- coming from East (Newport News, Kingsmill) take a right onto Longhill- coming from West (Richmond, Toano) take a left onto Longhill. Follow Longhill (changes to Ironbound Road) past the WJCC rec center and Plumeri Park Stadium. Keep straight through the light to the New Town area.
Take a right on Discovery Park Blvd. Follow Discovery Park (through 1 stop sign) to the last building on the right near the end of the road (past Harbour Coffee). Please park in the lot BEHIND the building (the front doors will be locked). We are on the bottom floor. The door on the far left at the back of the building will be open, please use that door to enter!
